Contest Outline 2002

Robocon was conceived to reach out to the student sorority and foster the development of individual countries. It brings members together through cooperative activities to promote the development of the industry. It is an ideal platform to assist member nations to improve content, skills, technologies and management. This naturally promotes and coordinates the study of matters of common interest and the exchange of information and facilitates the exchange of expertise between members.

The Robotics competition has been held six times so far.

Robocon, kicked off in Tokyo in the year 2002, was organized by Asia Pacific Broadcasters Union which has membership of more than 100 broadcasters from 50 countries around the world. Doordarshan India, being one of the broadcast members of ABU, Doordarshan Robocon India” came into existence.

Doordarshan Robocon India was started in the year 2002 with four teams participating from reputed Institutes. The number increased to seven in the year 2003 and last year there was an overwhelming response with 14 teams participating from different parts of the world.
